New Medieval Foot Knights from Victrix Limited

Hot on the heals of their mounted Medieval Knights kit, Victrix Limited has teased their dismounted counterpart. Let’s check them out!

It’s a great time to be a historical wargamer focusing on the medieval period, or a Bretonnian player, for that matter! In the last few weeks Wargames Atlantic has released a set of plastic foot knights and teased further sets of sergeants, peasants and mounted knights. Not to be outdone, Victrix Limited has released their own set of mounted medieval knights, teased a fantasy upgrade set for them, and now they are showing off a dismounted knight kit. While it remains to be seen how well splitting the market will go for these companies, it’s great to be a wargamer, spoiled for choice!

Victrix loves to pack their kits with options, and this one looks to be no different. We are told that there will be 8 bodies on the main frame, though only five are current on display in these images, but the number of weapons and arm options on them is very impressive. There are two handed weapons, spears, hand weapons and shields, crosses, disembodied heads, swords held like crosses, and something called a Batwing clever!

According to Victrix many of the parts from the mounted knights and fantasy upgrade sprue will be interchangeable with this range as well, giving even more options to an already impressive kit. With 3 of the 8 total bodies unfinished, this set isn’t quite ready to head to the “tooling” stage of production, so don’t expect them too soon, but in this age of FOMO and hype there’s no harm in getting excited early. Are you going to pick up this new kit? How do you expect them to match up with their Wargames Atlantic counterparts? Let us know in the comments!
