Thor, Hero of Midgard: The God of Thunder Returns!
Thor Odinson is a familiar face in Marvel: Crisis Protocol, making his debut early in the game’s life. Now, he’s back and better than ever! Thor has grown stronger and earned his title “Hero of Midgard” through countless heroic deeds on Earth. With a Threat Value of 6, robust defenses, and high Stamina stats (9 on his Healthy side and 8 on his Injured side), Thor is a force to be reckoned with. As an Asgardian, he has the innate superpower that grants him extra Power each round, plus Flight and Immunity (Shock) as you’d expect from the God of Thunder.
Thor, Hero of Midgard, is all about brawling up close and personal. His two powerful Range 3 attacks hit hard! Odinson’s Ire not only generates Power based on damage dealt but also channels lightning to deal extra damage to nearby enemies. With a Strength of 7, it packs quite a punch! And, thanks to the Push rule, no one can withstand a strike from Mjolnir. I Would Have Words With Thee! is a Strength 10 attack that lets Thor fly up to his target and throw it away if it’s Size 4 or less.
Thor is known for launching himself into the heat of battle. Have at Thee! lets him throw himself Medium distance without taking collision damage, though his target isn’t so lucky! The Power of Thor superpower lets him throw terrain features of Size 4 or less a Long distance, making it tough for enemies to dodge. And watch out for I Say Thee NAY, Villain!—a Reactive superpower costing 3 Power that can deal massive damage to attackers within Range 3.
While Thor’s been busy on Midgard, he’s learned to share his power with human allies. The For A Limited Time Only Team Tactic Card costs 3 Power and grants nearby allies the Thor’s Blessing superpower for one round, adding one die to their attack rolls and inflicting the Shock special condition on targets.
Loki, Prince of Lies: The Trickster Takes Charge!
While Thor’s been gallivanting, Loki has been scheming his way into Asgard’s leadership. This new version of Loki is here to take control and he’s got the skills to back it up.
Loki, Prince of Lies is a Threat Value 5 character with 4/4/5 Defense stats and Stamina values of 7 on his Healthy side and 6 on his Injured side. With a Long Speed stat, he moves quickly and efficiently. Loki’s cunning is evident in his attacks, starting with Mischiefs and Magicks. This attack builds Power based on damage dealt and can Bamboozle targets, advancing them and inflicting the Root special condition, making it harder for them to use superpowers.
His second attack, Clever Ploy, is an Area 3 attack with a Strength of 5. It costs 4 Power, but if it deals damage, Loki can advance the target Short. Allies within range aren’t affected, making it a strategic choice when Loki has the Power to spare.
Loki’s Power generation is noteworthy. With the Asgardian superpower and his leadership ability, I Come Bearing Gifts, Loki boosts his allies’ rolls in exchange for gaining Power. This ensures he has enough Power to fuel his other abilities.
Unlike Thor, Loki avoids direct brawls. Go Forth! allows him to move allied characters within Range 4 to a new position within Range 2, offering strategic placement every turn. Oh My, What a Pity is a Reactive superpower costing 1 Power, dealing damage to enemies whenever they roll Failure results. This can quickly add up, making it easier for Loki and his allies to eliminate weaker foes.
Loki’s innate ability, This Isn’t Mischief, This is Mayhem, counts opponent’s Failure results as successes for Loki when attacking or defending, boosting his effectiveness in battle.
Loki knows his limitations and prefers distance. The Giant’s Blood Team Tactic Card provides an escape by inflicting Slow and Root on enemies within Range 2 and teleporting Loki within Range 5. However, he drops any objective tokens he’s carrying. The Trickster’s Boon Team Tactic Card grants a non-Asgard ally 5 Power in exchange for a promise to Daze or KO an enemy character. Success rewards Loki’s player with 1 VP, while failure benefits the opponent.
