Hey, Warhammer enthusiasts! The new edition of Warhammer Age of Sigmar is just around the corner, and with it comes fresh rules and an exciting new app. But as we gear up for this new chapter, we have to say a heartfelt goodbye to an old friend: the venerable Warscroll Builder.
The End of an Era
Warscroll Builder has been a staple in the Warhammer community since its inception. Created by web designer and Warhammer enthusiast Tony Pacheco, this tool first emerged during the first edition of Age of Sigmar. Tony initially built it to help his local gaming community with complex points calculations, but it quickly gained popularity worldwide. Impressed by its utility and polish, Warhammer Community partnered with Tony in 2017, giving Warscroll Builder an official home.
A Labor of Love
Over the past seven years, Warscroll Builder has become an essential tool for many players, streamlining army creation and helping gamers jump into battles faster. Tony recalls the early days: “The first release of Age of Sigmar was really community-driven. Without points for units, everyone was figuring out how to play fairly. I started Warscroll Builder to help my friends and it took off.”
The collaboration with Warhammer Community was a game-changer, with the tool becoming a fixture on their site. “Seeing Warscroll Builder printouts at tournaments was amazing,” Tony says. “It’s been much more significant than I expected, and I’m really proud of what it’s become.”
Moving On
With the new edition of Age of Sigmar bringing big changes to army construction, Tony has decided it’s time to move on. “Life has a way of adding new stuff to your plate,” he explains. “It’s been harder these last couple of years, and this seemed like the right time to step away.”
Tony expresses deep gratitude to the community and Games Workshop for their support. “The feedback from the community made the tool what it is after all these years. I have nothing but great things to say about Games Workshop and the teams I worked with.”
Looking Ahead
While we’re sad to see Warscroll Builder go, there’s exciting news on the horizon. An all-new Warhammer Age of Sigmar app is launching soon, promising to bring fresh features and functionality for creating army lists. Stay tuned to Warhammer Community for more details coming tomorrow.
