Victrix is expanding its offerings of 12mm WW2 figured with British 8th Army Infantry and Universal Carriers. Let’s take a closer look.
Hot on the heels of their US Airborne preview, Victrix Limited has shown off even more 12mm WW2 goodness. This time it’s the infantry of the British 8th Army. Under the command of Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery they fought in North Africa in the Western Desert and Tunisian campaigns, and then in Italy, against Erwin Rommel’s Germans and Italian allies.
This set looks to continue Victrix’s track record of excellence in the realm of 12mm minis. The above renders are gorgeous and show off a variety of poses and armament. But there will be a ton more packed into this set than shown here. Victrix has promised Vickers machine guns, officers, radios, 2 inch mortars, antitank rifles, mine detectors and officers and a 2 pdr Antitank gun plus crew will be included in the set! For those of us who enjoy Bolt Action on a smaller scale, that is a full army in a single set! Alternatively, that is a great start on a Flames of War force as well.
But that’s not all, as Victrix has also shown off it’s Universal Carrier kit, nearly ready for release! The Universal Carrier was a mainstay of British armies, serving in roles as varied as its name suggests. This kit will come with both European and North African uniform options for the crew, and the carriers can be set up with 50 cal machine guns, flame thrower options (both British and Canadian variants) Piats, antitank rifles, mortar, Vickers and Forward observation options, as well as the standard Bren carrier. That’s some serious versatility!
But what’s all this British desert power without an opponent to, uh, oppose it? Well, Victrix has made no secret of the fact that the Afrika Corps is next up! Are you excited for some desert dust ups? Let us know what you think in the comments!
