US Airborne from Victrix Limited Released

Victrix Limited has added to their range of 12mm WW2 miniatures with the release of their newest set: US Airborne. Let’s take a closer look.

For the last several years Victrix Limited has been fleshing out a respectable range of 12mm WW2 infantry and tanks. This latest release increases the offerings for the American faction with US Airborne Infantry. Fans of Band of Brothers will be familiar with the storied campaigns of E (Easy) Company of the 501st Infantry Regiment during WW2, and rightly so, but their parent division, 101st Airborne, The Screaming Eagles, and it’s sister division, the 82nd, fought in North Africa, Italy, France, The Netherlands and Germany.

This set contains 4 sprues of 46 minis for a total of 184 soldiers. Victrix carries the rules for a battalion level game called O Group by Reisswitz Press (a sister company of the Too Fat Lardies, who make other WW2 games), but they could just as easily be used to play Bolt Action, Chain of Command, Flames of War, or any other game.

The minis come with a wide variety of weapons options. The full breakdown is as follows:

  • 68 x Riflemen
  • 20 x Thompson machine guns
  • 8 x BAR
  • 8 x Rifle grenades
  • 12 x 30 cal machine gun teams
  • 8 x Radio men
  • 8 x Bazooka teams
  • 16 x Officers
  • 8 x Ammo carriers
  • 4 x Mortar teams

More than enough for just about any game system that would use miniatures based individually or in squads.
