Wargames Atlantic Reveals New Medieval Range

No April Fools trick here, Wargames Atlantic has a new range of plastic Medieval Miniatures on the way! Let’s take a look.

Wargames Atlantic has revealed the first of five (at least!) planned sets of plastic Medieval Miniatures. These sets are meant to portray medieval combatants from the 12th through 14th Century. This particular set of foot knights lists the portrayed range as 1150-1320. Not playing coy at all, WA has said that four more sets are in the works and will be released shortly, portraying sergeants, levies, and at least two cavalry sets!

These sets look great and come packed with options. There are twice as many heads as bodies on each sprue, including helmeted and bare options. There are six shields in several varieties and weapons galore! There are enough swords for every mini, but there are a variety of hand weapons, a spear, a sword with a two handed grip and two double handed axes.

Furthermore, Wargames Atlantic has apparently been working closely with Paul Hobday and Andy Hicks of Footsore Miniatures to make certain that these minis are in scale with their metal range of miniatures for the same period. Footsore Miniatures makes a ruleset for this period called The Barons’ War that is dying for an article of its own sometime soon. While their minis are awesome they are a bit pricey. These upcoming plastic sets could be a good avenue for new gamers to get into the game without breaking the bank.
