Heresy Thursday: Find redemption with Hibou Khan

During the tumultuous era of the Horus Heresy, when the galaxy was engulfed in flames of treachery and rebellion, not all of the Loyalist Legions remained steadfast in their allegiance to the Emperor. Among them were the White Scars, whose ranks were divided as some of their warriors chose to follow the path of betrayal alongside the Warmaster.

One such figure was Hibou Khan, a commander of Terran origin who harbored resentment toward the increasing influence of Chogorian culture within the Vth Legion under Jaghatai Khan’s leadership.

Despite their conspiracies, most of the traitorous Khans met their demise. However, Hibou Khan chose a different path, submitting himself to the judgement of the Great Khan and showing remorse for his actions. Instead of immediate execution, he was sentenced to a life of redemption-seeking missions as one of the Sagyar Mazan, a group of dishonored warriors tasked with suicidal raids against enemy strongholds.

Hibou’s journey eventually led him to the Garmon Cluster, where he fought alongside the Shattered Legions commanded by Shadrak Meduson. He distinguished himself in battle, inflicting a grievous wound upon Horus Aximand and dealing heavy losses to the traitorous forces.

This resin miniature of Hibou Khan depicts him clad in an ornate suit of Mk II Crusade-pattern power armor, signifying his long service within the Legiones Astartes. Armed with the formidable two-handed power sword known as the Breath of the Storm, he strikes a fearsome figure on the battlefield. The miniature includes options for both helmeted and helmetless head variants, allowing players to customize his appearance.

As a Warlord leading your army, Hibou Khan grants himself and his unit the Rampage (2) special rule, reflecting their relentless pursuit of redemption through combat. Even upon his death, his army does not falter but instead gains additional momentum, transitioning seamlessly into the Assault phase as his loyal troops honor his legacy and press forward with renewed vigor.

Hibou Khan will soon be available to lead your forces into battle, with his rules featured in The Battle for Beta-Garmon.
