3 Rules that we ask you to follow:

No Outside Food or Drink in the Hall

The Harrah’s Cherokee Resort   has informed us that they will be closely monitoring this. Please respect their rules when in the hall. There will be plenty of options all day so you do not need to worry. The staff is far more relaxed at Cherokee than at other venues, so things like energy bars are fine, so you should not fret too much.  Basically, don’t go to McDonalds and bring it in the hall and eat it there and don’t bring in an ice chest of drinks and expect us to let you get away with it.

Don’t be late.

This event has grown pretty big with quite a few moving parts. We no longer have the flexibility to postpone start times and so we need to have rounds starting on time. Please be respectful of the judge team and your opponents and show up on time for each round.

Do NOT feed the bears.

Seriously. This is bear county. Don’t feed them.

Hall Location:

The Cherokee Harrah’s Resort is massive and has multiple parking garages, towers and entrances. When approaching the resort for the first time, it is important to go to the “Cherokee Tower & Conference Center,” which has its own entrance, hotel front desk, and valet parking. It is the newest part of the entire resort. If you booked your room via the Frontline Gaming room block, you will be staying in this tower as it is connected to the Conference Center.

All events, registration the bars, the food vendor and the board games are located in the Cherokee Conference Center’s  3rd floor Ballroom which can easily be accessed from the main Cherokee Tower hotel or via the walkways that connect it to the rest of the Cherokee Resort and Casino.

If you are staying in the Frontline Gaming roomblock, then you are likely in the hotel room block attached to the Convention Center, so you should be able to simply step out of the elevators and go right up the escalator to the hall.

If you are coming from the rest of the resort or the casino then you pass by the larger restaurants and take the Connector pathway to the  Convention Center. HERE is a high-res, detailed map showing how to get to the Cherokee Open from the main Harrah’s Resort.

Hall and Food Hours:

The hall will be open to the public from 8:00AM to 9:00PM, Friday-Sunday. We encourage you to enjoy dinner in the hall and play some casual games after your final rounds on Friday and Saturday. A summary of the event hours from Thursday Afternoon to Sunday evening can be found HERE.

The food in the hall at Cherokee was considered the best food sold at any FLG event in 2023! Plus, it is super affordable:

Grab and Go Breakfast is located in the hall’s concession stand and will be open from 8AM-10:30AM. So this means coffee and a breakfast sandwiches will be on hand for you to quickly grab something before the first round of each day.

Lunch and snacks are located in the hall’s concessions  from 11AM-5PM and will have everything from pizza, hamburgers and chicken strips, to pretzels, chips, and Tums.  Full menu is HERE. Family Dinner (see below) is running from 7PM-9PM.

There is a Full Bar located in the Hall as well and will be open till 9PM.

DRINK SPECIAL: COMBAT JUICE

You man have noticed at LVO the “LVO Combat Juice” sold at the Guy Fieri Mexican restaurant…well due to the success, we decided to roll out Combat Juice to as many of our events as possible this year!!!!

Combat Juice is a speciality cocktail made for each Frontline Gaming Event, and will be themed around a local ingredient or style of drink. Not only will these cocktails be priced competitively for event attendees, but a portion of proceeds will go towards supporting local charities so that we can help the communities that are hosting us!!!

At Cherokee, we are pleased to present to you with “Cherokee Open Combat Juice” made from the Smokey Mountain speciality: Moonshine.

The rest of the flavor profile is composed of Blue Curaçao, Cranberry, Sour Mix, and Grenadine.

This cocktail will be available from the bars in our hall as well as well as in the rest of the resort.

Cherokee is unique in that we will have Family Dinner in the hall!!! The food will be cooked by the resort’s chef just for us and the prices will be very reasonable compared to anything else on the resort. Eating in the in hall will not only be a great way to hang out with your opponents from the day, but it will also allow you to avoid having to battle the crowds for a table at the resort’s packed restaurants. Friday there will be local speciality, BBQ, plus all the fixings. On Saturday there will be tacos with all the toppings as well as nachos. Dinner is served 7PM-9PM.

Event Swag:

At ANY time from Friday at 8am to Sunday at 10AM (during opening hours) you can come by the front desk and get your Frontline Gaming Event Swag.

People cannot pick up something to hand to their friend or bring home an item for someone not in attendance. We just do not have extras and things like the FLG Challenge  Coins that certain events earn are designed purely for players in attendance.

If you have Frontline Gaming Challenge Coins from previous Frontline Gaming events, please present them to the Registration Desk between 10AM -7PM Friday, 10AM -7PM Saturday, or 8AM-11AM Sunday. You will receive the FLG Challenge Coin Perk!!!

FLG Achievement Dice Event:

The Cherokee Open will be the first event after LVO that earns you Frontline Gaming Achievement Dice that were so popular in Vegas!!!

You can unlock these special edition dice through your accomplishments during certain tournaments at the Cherokee. Think of these as Boy Scout merit badges or video game “achievements,” but in the form of dice.

There are several different achievements you can do to earn these dice. Each achievement has its own bespoke die. Every time that a judge at a tournament determines that you have accomplished one of these achievements, you will earn a die for it, so you can work towards a full set.

These ultra premium dice are custom made exclusively for Frontline Gaming by Baron of Dice, the leading manufacture specializing in quality tabletop wargaming dice! The dice feature a matte finish, squared off edges, and are engraved with gold pips and logos on the “6” side. To learn more about Achievement Dice, please see HERE.

Assistance during the event:

Every event has their designated TOs and Judges, many of whom will be wearing yellow FLG tees. They are knowledgeable and ready to help however they can, but they all know how to reach FLG Admin if necessary.

As 40K has gotten very large, we are proud to now roll our the 40K Judge Paging system that we tested in SoCal and fully launched at LVO last month. This system allows you, via QR code created text message, to easily page a judge to your table if needed during a game. There will be cards on the 40K tables with a QR code you can use to page a judge.

Anyone in a black FLG Staff Tee, works directly for FLG and can assist you as well.

When in doubt, please head to the front registration desk.

Cherokee Open Terrain Special:

At Cherokee, the 40K tournament will have about 1/3 of the tables comprised of the extremely popular new set of terrain we released in late 2023, the Krast Outpost. Event attendees will be able to buy this terrain for a super special price during the event and have it shipped to them once the terrain is ready. For more details, ask about this special when you get to the event.

Cherokee Harrah’s Resort and Regional Pro Tips:

Restaurants on-site: The Harrah’s is a very popular resort and for good reason. The place is just plain awesome and does draw a crowd on the weekends so please temper your expectations and plan accordingly. It is highly recommended that you make reservations in advance for any restaurants on the Harrah’s property that you want to eat dinner at. For breakfast and lunch there will be plenty of food in our hall just for our Frontline Gaming Cherokee Open Attendees, so you should not need to worry about that. And, as stated above, we will have dinner in the hall that will be prepared just for our event by one of the chefs.

Restaurants off-site: in the surrounding area in the town of Cherokee there are multiple places to grab dinner, from fast food options, to diners, and local restaurants.  Note that some places may be closed for the season, so you might want to call in advance. Based off of feedback last year, the off-site restaurants were not highly recommended compared to the food on the resort.

Things to do: The Entertainment center attached to the resort is open and has bowling alley lanes, an arcade and a firesite patio along with food and drinks. The town of Cherokee has shops and cultural exhibits. The Smoky Mountains National Park  is one of the most popular parks in the USA with plenty of trails and wildlife that can be seen. Its entrance and visitor  center with museum  is just up the road. The famed Blue Ridge Parkway is also minutes from the resort.

If you have any questions, please post them on the Frontline Gaming Community Group on Facebook for the fastest response.

We can’t wait to see you all soon!
