LVO 2024 A Song of Ice and Fire Recap

Adam, FLG Head Judge and TFG Radio host, here to give you a recap of the Song of Ice and Fire Events.

From Karl, the organizer of the events

A Song of Ice and Fire: TMG Doubles and After Dark Friday events

Friday was casual day, and boy was it crazy! Doubles had a lot of positive feedback with players learning, laughing, and connecting with the deadliest (normally illegal) combos you could think of! Thank you all so much for joining in, with 20 players strong throughout the day, it was a big success for its debut. The after dark featured both a custom Big Battle mode and also tables for Demos. The Big Battle mode hosted four large armies in two different giant 1 v1 s. A huge thank you to those players for trying this out and for bringing such beautiful armies and terrain, I have notes and greatly look forward to future refinement to this mode. Lastly for the Friday, thank you so much to the 3 teachers we had running games, and to the many visitors that stopped by to learn. Congrats to all 8 of our raffle winners throughout the day!

The event was a huge success, due to all parties involved. A huge thank you to all those assisting me in any part of the process, and to CMON for making sure everyone walked away with at least a unit box! 58 tickets sold and 49 players present is our biggest showing yet, and close to the biggest event outside of CMON nationals ever in the States. ( perhaps 2nd biggest ever) We have some work to do to contend with the overseas 150+ events, but I know we can get there. Over the course of 2 days, 6 rounds, commanders tested their might against many Lannister, especially the fearsome Ser Gregor Clegane. A good amount of pillaging Greyjoy were also spotted amongst the field. The bannermen of the WCB showed up strong and defended the West, taking all top 4 slots, with Kurt Pucci, last years champion being the only other 5-1 contender at fifth place. A huge congratulations to our new Rightful Ruler of LVO, Christian Collins, of House Greyjoy!!! We look forward to growing even stronger in the events to come!! The ASoIAF TMG community is looking forward to the next patch on 01/29 and how that will shake things up!! A special shoutout to all those growing this great game, it is truly one of a kind and just so much fun. If you are looking to learn, reach out! There is so much content out there, and we have such a great community. It is such a pleasure to serve it by running these events, after some much needed rest, I’ll get to planning the next one! You can find me on the West Coast Bannermen Discord or the NorCal FB group for this game. Thank you everyone again so much for making the trip!

I really need to shout, for the two friends of players that spent a lot of their time assisting me in finding those that needed judge calls, calling time, handing things out, cleaning up, setting up, etc etc. Val and Robert from the Fresno stronghold, were absolutely amazing. they mustve been there 90% of the time. I cant thank them enough
