5 YEARS OF CONQUEST AND THE CELEBRATIONS BEGIN: A REIMAGINED CLASSIC, THE ARTISAN SERIES ABOMINATION IS COMING!
Para Bellum Games, publisher of fantasy Mass Combat Miniature Wargame “Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings” and Skirmish ruleset “Conquest: First Blood,” has unveiled a tantalizing reimagining of a classic, in the form of the Artisan Series Abomination, sculpted by Michael Kontraros! Marking the celebrations for Conquest’s fifth year, Para Bellum returns to its roots and reimagines one of its most iconic launch releases, which turned heads and ignited the imagination of hobbyists everywhere: the Spires Abomination, a twisted creation of the unfettered genius of the Sovereign. With a condemned member of the Spire society in its bowels able to feel all the pain and urges of the Abomination but exercise no control over it, the Abomination serves as punishment, prison and war-machine – as well, of course, as a deadly army list entry and an inviting mini to paint – all in one perversely beautiful and effective package.
“We are so excited about this release,” says Founder and Creative Director, Stavros Halkias. “For our launch, the Abomination was a great achievement for us, from a design and engineering point of view. To get the chance now to revisit it, with all the amassed knowledge of the past five years, is a dream come true. And to be able to bring Michael to this mix, it is a perfect beginning for our five-year celebrations.” Originally inspired by the humble ant, the Abomination was meant to serve as a clarion call about the Spires faction, bringing a simple message: nothing is too innocent, small or insignificant that the Spires cannot twist, bloat and warp to serve their purposes. With this message clearly sent and well received by fans across the world, the Artisan Series Abomination is a re-imagined and re-cast, as deadlier, more twisted and – if possible – even more disturbing design, that promises doom to enemies, torture to its prisoner inside, and a perfect new blank canvas for hours of hobby time. We are also pleased to introduce our 5th Anniversary logo to fans.
