Para Bellum Games, publisher of fantasy Mass Combat Miniature Wargame “Conquest: The Last Argument of Kings” and Skirmish ruleset “Conquest: First Blood,” is entering the holiday season swinging spear, blade, claw and fang in equal measure!
From the ice-ridden Mannheim, three spectacular releases are coming the way of all Nord Warlords, with the long-awaited Werewargs hitting the holiday shelf, accompanied not by one, but two(!) Artisan Series characters, which vie for supremacy over deadliness and beauty alike. The Werewargs, a brutish mix of man and the terrifying Wargs of Mannheim, promise doom to any who dares stand in their way. Leading them is the Artisan Series Vargyr Lord, a Brute Character who shares all the same might and ferocity as his bestial peers but possesses the strength of will to control the lycanthropic curse. With them, in a beautiful, finely detailed rendition of the Jarl, the Artisan Series Female Jarl brings a stunning new take on an old favorite – appropriately clad in a warg’s skin to compliment her brutal following.
“The Nords are where beasts, be they legendary or real, and humanity meet, where the strongest and fittest survive” says Founder and Creative Director, Stavros Chalkias. “More often than not, all life on Mannheim clashes for survival – more often than is healthy or natural, they merge… With this set of releases, we showcase all sides of the Nords: the bestial ferocity and the strength of humanity. The fact we had the opportunity to do this wrapped in two Artisan Series as well is just the frozen cherry on top!” Tracing their blood to the Einherjar Vangyr, Werewargs are children of chance, having survived a warg attack, which in turn triggered their dormant lineage. Only a handful of them possess the strength of will to control their curse, venerated as Vargyr Lords. But Mannheim is called so for a reason and it is humanity that claims the island. For all the might and brutality of its history, it is the spirit of mankind that rules over this land – and the Jarls are this spirit made manifest. The new Artisan Series Female Jarl is a finely crafted vision of that spirit. Be it for the ferocity of the wild, the strength of humanity or both, gamers and hobbyists alike are bound to travel north for the holidays!
