Ionus Cryptborn Preview and Rules!

Hey, fellow Warhammer Age of Sigmar aficionados! Grab your swords and shields because I’ve got some exciting news about Ionus Cryptborn, one of Sigmar’s legendary champions. This guy’s been around the block a few times, and he’s back with a fresh mission – he’s now the Warden of Lost Souls, and he’s riding a massive draconith named Cthorak.

The Backstory: Back in the early days of Age of Sigmar, he and his buddy Vandus Hammerhand were fighting side by side against the Khorne worshipping Goretide. These days, well, let’s just say they’re not sharing drinks at the local tavern.

Cthorak’s Firepower: Cthorak, the trusty draconith, has been through the wringer in the Shyish Nadir. But don’t let his tattered wings fool you; his Spirit-Scouring Flames can BBQ the baddies, and if they somehow survive, they’re soulburned, risking mortal wounds in every hero phase. Ouch!

Ionus’ Divine Touch: As one of Sigmar’s OG champions, Ionus gets some extra firepower. He can unleash the Lightning Tempest, a storm that jumps between enemies, frying them with D3 mortal wounds. That’s a real zap!

Draconith Skywing Army: If you’re into recreating aerial awesomeness, this army is for you. It’s all about STORMCAST ETERNALS and DRACONITH units. Plus, you get Krondys, Karazai, and Stormdrake Guard units with two models as Battleline. It’s like a dragon airshow!

Draconith Guardians: These loyal buddies will dive in front of attacks aimed at Ionus like real champs. They help redirect wounds targeting Ionus on a 4+. Talk about dedication!

Monstrous Rampages: Your dragon pals can go on a rampage too. Abilities like Stun and Impact Tremors mess with your opponents, making it harder for them to fight effectively. Wound rolls take a hit, and pile-in moves are cut to a measly 1″. That’s how you show ’em who’s boss!

Loads of Enhancements: You’ve got a whole page of enhancements to play with, including three new prayers for Ionus, a spell for Krondys, a unique grand strategy, and three battle tactics that’ll make your dragon squadrons even more fearsome.

Now, the full rules are in the Dawnbringers: Book III – The Long Hunt, where you’ll also find other epic Armies of Renown like the Lofnir Drothkeepers and The Roving Maw. Get ready because Cryptborn’s Stormwing and The Long Hunt will be available for pre-order soon. And if you can’t wait, you can download the rules for Ionus Cryptborn right now. It’s time to soar to glory!
