Hey Everyone! The SoCal Open 2023 is a few days away!!!!!!! We are super excited to see you all soon! Here is all the important info you need to know to make sure you have the best possible experience !
Registration/Check In:
Before arrival to the SoCal Open, please make sure you have your ticket receipt (saved on your phone as a screen shot or just as a printout please). So you can quickly get the correlating swag for the various events you are participating in and any items that are included in packages you may have purchased.
***Special note for events using BCP***
If you are playing the 40K Champs or AoS Champs please make sure to check in on the BCP app up to 24 hours before the event. You should have gotten a token emailed to you that allows you to register for the event in BCP. Once registered in BCP and on the event’s roster, you can then upload your list. IMPORTANT: You should be checked in to BCP before you enter the hall so that pairing can go live ASAP and we can begin round 1 on time. Make sure to hit the “Check In” button on the app within 24 hours of the first round beginning.
Hall Location:
The SoCal Open is taking place in the Del Mar Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall. This hall is located in the South East part of the campus. Attached is a map of the Fairgrounds. If coming from I-5, consider using the Solana Gate entrance off Via De La Valle along the North Side of the property.
The fairgrounds told us that parking is paid for at the Solana gate off Via De La Valle. There is also an entrance to the Fairgrounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. Ask about possible muti-day parking.
Both gates open 1 hour prior to the start of the event.

There will be no need to come to the registration desk unless you have questions or are unable to find your event specific head judge. We will be handing out the Frontline Gaming SoCal Open Challenge Coins and event swag, but you do not need to come in before round one to get these items. We do ask you to come before 10AM on Sunday though to ensure you get your swag.
Paint Judging (best Hobbyist)
Make sure you have your army at the front where the judging will take place. Our head judge for each event will coordinate this. Please read the packet if/when there is paint judging for your event. Judging for the 40K Champs will only take place Saturday morning at 8AM to 9:45AM. And the final hobby showcase is Saturday after the last round of 40K so that everyone can see the best of the best and take photos. All game systems are welcome to participate in the hobby showcase.
Hours:
The hall will be open to the public from 8:00AM to 8:00, Saturday-Sunday. On Friday the hall is open for setup in the afternoon- we would love any help we can get! Email Events@frontlinegaming.org for more info.
Food and Drink:
There will be food sold outside our hall at fairground operated vendors. There will also be a full service bar.
Bring snacks. And Water. Lots of water. Outside food and drink (especially alcohol) is not allowed but it is best to have something to keep you going as we know the food vendors can be a little far away from the Exhibit Hall.
The Fairground Food will include chili dogs, corn dogs, fries, burgers, sausages, fish n chips, soft drinks and water and a bar/beverage service. They will be open on Saturday 10a-5p. And Sunday 10a-4p.
A bar is located in the hall as well and will be open till from 11AM to 6:30PM.
If you bring in full meal from the outside, please be considerate and please understand the Fairgrounds does not allow outside food so they may ask you to dispose of it.
Paint and Take:
At the Frontline Gaming SoCal One 2023, there will be a paint and take station stocked with plenty of Duncan Rhodes Two-Thin-Coats paint!
There will be brushes, water pots, and a big pile of primed minis ready for you to use and take home when finished testing out this popular new paint line! We only ask that you paint in the designated area and close all paint bottles when finished.
Awards:
FLG will have Faction Specialist pins for each event! These special pins are given to players who are best in their game system’s particular faction/army.
The Hobby Goblins along with Big Bear 3-D has generously created the awards for the 40K and AoS Champs. The Best General will be going home with a gorgeous weapon replica!
Preorders:
If you have items that came with your ticket (premium or was pre-ordered merch), these items will need to be picked up at the front Registration Desk by 10AM on Sunday. Any items unclaimed by then will be forfeited without refund/replacement and may be sold to another person.
Event Swag:
At ANY time from Friday at 8am to Sunday at 10AM (during opening hours) you can come by the front desk and get your Frontline Gaming Event Swag.
People cannot pick up something to hand to their friend or bring home an item for someone not in attendance. We just do not have extras and things like the FLG Challenge Coins that certain events earn or are designed purely for players in attendance.
FLG Challenge Coin Perk:
If you have Frontline Gaming Challenge Coins from previous Frontline Gaming events, please present them to the Registration Desk between 10AM -8PM Saturday, or 8AM-11AM Sunday. You will partake in the FLG Challenge Coin Perk for this event! Specifics about this event perk are shared on Saturday.
Assistance during the event:
Every event has their designated TOs and Judges, many of whom will be wearing yellow FLG tees. They are knowledgeable and ready to help however they can, but they all know how to reach FLG Admin if necessary.
Anyone in a black FLG Staff Tee, works directly for FLG and can assist you as well.
When in doubt, please head to the front registration desk.
If you have any questions, please post them on the Frontline Gaming Community Group on Facebook for the fastest response.
If you are already planning your next FLG event, be sure to consider the Las Vegas Open!
We can’t wait to see you all soon!
