New Release from Victrix – Late Roman Unarmored Cavalry

Victrix Ltd has a new set of plastic cavalry for their late roman range. Let’s take a look at what you get.

Victrix has been raising the bar lately for Late Roman and Dark Ages plastic sets. Their sculpting and posing are top notch, and the bits and options that come on these sprues are excellent. This new set of Late Roman Unarmored Cavalry continues this trend of quality and plenty.

The set comes with 12 soldiers and horses, split across six sprues (3 x soldier sprues and 3 x horse sprues). Soldiers can be armed with swords, spears or javelins, and there are enough of each for the entire force to be armed uniformly, if you so choose. Each sprue also has 18 scabbarded swords in six styles and twelve shields in three styles, thirteen heads, two standards and a trumpet. No matter how you arm your troops, you are guaranteed to have a ton of leftover bits!

The horse sprues are no slouch, either. They come with four unique horses, bedrolls, javelin holders, and water skins and what look to be extra tall saddle options. The horses are depicted at a gallop and are as well sculpted as their riders.

This is a great looking set with a lot of cool options. Are you going to be picking one up? Let us know how you are going to set it up in the comments!
