In this article we delve into how the Warhammer Alliance program is lending its mighty support to gaming clubs as the new school year begins.
What is Warhammer Alliance?
Warhammer Alliance is a dedicated Education Support Program on a noble quest to provide valuable resources to schools, libraries, and other educational institutions. Its mission is to create unforgettable Warhammer experiences for young enthusiasts.
Back to School Offer Deadline: October 1st
For existing clubs, the current back-to-school offer awaits your participation until October 1st. Make sure to scour your emails (even the spam folder!) for the details on how to seize this opportunity. Can’t locate the email? No worries, simply reach out to your local Warhammer Alliance team for guidance. All the essential information can be conveniently accessed on the Warhammer Alliance Website.
September Club Top-Up
As the new school year kicks off, GW clubs receive a boost in September (or February for clubs down under) to help them spring back into action after the holidays. The precise offer may vary depending on your location, but it typically includes extra miniatures to welcome new members.
Battle Honours Program
The arrival of a new school year heralds the arrival of new club members. Enter the Battle Honours program, a tool for club leaders to wield. This program is brimming with engaging activity ideas for both individuals and groups. Participants are duly rewarded for their involvement, collaborating with their local Warhammer store manager.
Curriculum Opportunities
In November and April, GW reaches out to clubs for feedback on the program. One recurring request has been for more resources and links to enhance the learning experience through Warhammer. Well, the moment has come! GW proudly presents the Curriculum Opportunities document.
This document, crafted by educators for educators, expertly illustrates the links between various curriculum elements and suggests ingenious ways to integrate Warhammer into different subjects. Subjects such as Art, Literacy, Numeracy, STEM, life skills, and wellbeing all find their place in the world of Warhammer. In the near future, we’ll offer free lesson plans for download to make this integration even smoother.
As someone with a background in education (I have worked in higher education for 11 years, and currently work for a school of education). I am curious to see how these programs would be received at a US school compared to a UK one (where the IP is better known). Do you have any experience or interest in these programs? I would love to hear from you in the comments!
