As many of you know there is a large set of reveals due out tonight at the NVOA open. Before these big events I like to try and guess to see how many I can get right. I won’t bore you with my correct guess percentage, after all the speculations is half the fun!
40k:
For 40k this event will serve as the Space Marine “equal attention cake”. After losing the battle for Oghram they also lost the limelight to the nids. Well, tonight we will get to see the whole new range of models including: Primaris jump pack units, Primaris Scouts and some new character options. We may also get to see some second wave teasers of Votann, or another low model count army.
Age of Sigmar:
This is a little easier, we know there will be some big reveals for the Orruks, but I think there will also be a major reveal for the Flesh Eater Courts. I think we will get to see their new models and figure out what their new range will be like. As part of this, we will also get a look at the next campaign book for the Dawnbrigner crusade series.
Horus Heresy:
This is where it starts to get harder. I think we will get to seem some more plastic knight kits come out, alongside a character or two. I think the big news will be new dreadnoughts, specifically plastic Deredeo dreads. We may get glimpses of a new campaign book, but I expect the focus to shift to some of the other specialist games in the coming months.
War Cry:
I honestly have no idea, maybe we get a new ghost warband, I don’t play this game so it’s harder to guess. I would guess another FEC band but we just had one.
Blood Bowl:
As above, I don’t know what to expect, it’s still too early for a new edition, but they may move to every three years. I would expect a new combined team (like underworld denizens) at the least.
The Old World:
For possibly the third time in a row I feel like we will finally get a release date here. I have seen some rumors pointing to a Christmas release, and this would line up with the release date. I think we will get to see the new Bretonnian and Tomb King boxes, and it will be a time of much rejoicing.
Warhammer Underworlds:
We are due for a new destruction warband here, but who it could be is still a wild guess. My gut says Orrks (I think its part of the set the anvil squig goes with). Other than that it will be a pretty fast, small reveal.
Conclusion:
The last set of NOVA open reveals were a little underwhelming in my opinion so my predictions might be way off. This is one of the last major reveals of the year so if anything big is coming it has to be now. What do you all think? Am I way off? Missing osmething? What do you think will be revealed tonight?
