AMG Puts Out The Call for Star Wars: Legion Playtesters

Think you know how to fix Star Wars: Legion? Well, this is not your opportunity to do so, but it still sounds fun! Let’s check it out.

Atomic Mass Games has asked for Star Wars: Legion playtesters from the community. AMG posted a link to the application through their facebook page, which has already garnered significant interest on the platform. There have been a fair number of less than charitable comments, such as “oh, they are playtesting now?” and some that were poorly thought out, such as “if they already released version 2.0, why are they asking for playtesters now?”

Let’s address these: AMG absolutely has in-house play testers. Just because a game doesn’t turn out the way you like doesn’t mean no one played it. Just look at how GW games are regularly broken, then “fixed.” In this modern era of online errata, FAQs and living rules sets the need for playtesters continues well past a game’s release. From the sound of it, AMG wants help playtesting new units they are planning on adding to the game.

The application asks for some basic information, name and Email (twice!) and a couple long form questions. The first of these is a battle report (1500 word max) written from a playtesting perspective. The second question asks you to write about your favorite movie (300 words max), including what you like and what you think doesn’t work about it. The last question asks the applicant to evaluate a scenario they have been assigned for playtesting (max 300 words). All in all, not a particularly tough app.

Will you be signing up to be a community playtester? Let us know why or why not in the comments!
