TIE/sa Bombers return to Star Wars: X-Wing

This new expansion pack for Star Wars: X-Wing comes packed with goodies. Let’s take a look!

TIE/sa Bombers are a ubiquitous part of the Star Wars Universe. They are part of just about any Imperial garrison, as well as a standard subset of the TIE complement of any self respecting Imperial capital ship. These powerful, but less maneuverable ships return to Star Wars: X-Wing in this awesome pack containing two ships and much more!

Along with the two ships, this box comes with four standard loadout cards, eight ship cards and fourteen upgrade cards. Atomic Mass has not previewed the upgrade cards or the ship cards yet, but we know there will be two Scimitar Squadron Pilots and two Gamma Squadron Pilots, on top of the Ship Card version of the four named Pilots: Deathfire, Captain Jonus, Tomax Bren, and Major Rhymer.

The four named pilots above also come as Standard Loadout Cards, for players that want to get stuck in immediately. Deathfire comes loaded up with Conner Nets, which are a mine, and Proton Bombs. He is a bit more maneuverable than the other pilots, with his Swift Approach ability allowing him to perform a white barrel roll or boost after launching a bomb. Major Rhymer comes with Advanced Proton Torpedoes, Automated Loaders and Afterburners. He is particularly dangerous to anyone in his bullseye arc.

Tomax Bren, a veteran of Scimitar Squad, comes with Plasma Torpedoes, Ion Bombs and True Grit, which allows him to strain himself to remove an orange or red, non-lock, token. Captain Jonus has Barrage Rockets, Proton Bombs and the intriguing Top Cover ability that lets him ignore friendly devices and launch devices in answer to friendlies being attacked. He also gets an evade token for launching devices, meaning he will likely disrupt an enemy’s chosen order of operations.

And that’s all we got in the preview. What do you think, is it time to add some bombers to your Imperial squadron? Let us know in the comments!
