Hi all,
It’s time for another monthly update on my progress towards the three events I will be playing in for the Nova open!
So let’s revisit what I need to accomplish:
- Design army lists for:
- Warhammer Armies Project (WAP) big battle
- Age of Sigmar Doubles
- Horus Heresy Doubles
- Acquire the models for above
- Paint the models from above
Specifically I set the following goals for the month of June
- Build the remaining Horus Heresy models
- Painting 20 seekers
- Bully my AoS doubles partner into figuring out his list
Unfortunately I only managed to one of the above. June was a busy month with my coursework ending for the summer as well as a few vacations. The Seekers are done, but the other two are not. I did get most of my models back from the commission painters, with somewhat mixed results. I had to do a lot of touch ups on the KoS and the Blissbarbs which was a bit annoying.
For one thing, my partner not getting his list ready for Sigmar, this was expected. With the new General’s Handbook coming out recently, it made sense to wait for the release. However, this brought additional struggles. The new points update meant my anticipated list was 20 points over the 1K limit, forcing me back to the drawing board. I really feel out of my depth when making these AoS lists, and so I am not looking forward to coming up with another option. I am currently thinking of the following list:
- Hedonites of Slaanesh
- Bladebringer on a Seeker Chariot – re-roll charges trait
- Seeker Chariot
- Seeker Chariot
- Exalted Seeker Chariot
- Hellflayer
- 10x Seekers
- Fane of Slaanesh
I really don’t know how to assess this list, especially in light of all of the new rules coming in the GHB. It is kinda meme-y (and what is the point of doubles tournaments if not for meme-y lists?) It can put out some decent mortals on a charge (3D3 +2 from the three seeker chariots), but it lacks any shooting or much casting. I also forgot faction terrain is free in AoS so I have to build and paint the Fane I just got too haha! Astute observers will also know that I haven’t mentioned these chariots yet, thus you can guess that they aren’t painted :S
The Horus Heresy stuff has taken a back seat for now, as it is much faster for me to paint these minis. I still need to build my Javelin speeder but that should be it.
Thus I find myself with the following goals for July!
- Build the remaining Horus Heresy models (again)
- Paint my chariots and Fane
- Nail down an AoS list (again)
See you later in July for another update!
