Epic Scale
Legions Imperialis is played at ‘epic scale,’ just like Adeptus Titanicus and Aeronautica Imperialis. Combine your models into a mighty force, augmenting your Legiones Astartes or Solar Auxilia with the colossal war machines of the Mechanicum and more. This allows you to unleash devastating destruction upon your foes.
General’s Eye View
On the battlefield, Detachments act as individual ‘units’ in other Warhammer games. Each Detachment operates based on the Orders assigned to them each round. Initially hidden when issued, Orders require you to anticipate your opponent’s plans and devise your own strategies to counter them.
Non-stop Action
Detachments take turns activating, meaning you move or fire with a Detachment, then your opponent does the same, and so on. This ensures you are constantly immersed in the heat of battle, adjusting your plans on the fly to seize any advantageous opportunities that arise.

Strategic decisions begin before the battle even commences, starting with the army you assemble. Infantry excel at capturing Objectives, while vehicles and super-heavies possess greater durability and lethality. Just as each Detachment has its role, the weapons they wield also serve specific purposes. Assault cannons shred infantry but have no effect on Titans, whereas Lascannons excel against vehicles.
