These battle-hardened soldiers, alongside the Clone Troopers, form the backbone of the army during the notorious Clone Wars, from which the conflict takes its name.
Every Clone Trooper, even at their most basic, undergoes rigorous training and conditioning, equipping them for their dedicated military roles. Their combat readiness far exceeds that of the typical battle droids they clash against in the Separatist Army. Clone Commandos, however, are bestowed with additional training, honing them to serve in specialized capacities, such as advanced reconnaissance and assisting special strike teams. They often accompany Jedi officers in the Grand Army of the Republic, reinforcing the military might.
Clone Commandos, with their superior discipline, accuracy, and the ability to execute special assaults using state-of-the-art gear, are a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Their adeptness at highly orchestrated actions is reflected in their dynamic abilities. The Defensive Maneuver Active ability bolsters their movement, providing a Hunker token to the Unit. Coordinated Fire, another stellar ability, inflicts additional damage on enemy targets when an ally fires upon them, making the Clone Commandos an exceptional force multiplier in the Galactic Republic Unit.
Traversing the battlefield with caution and speed is another area where the Clone Commandos excel. They are highly skilled at utilizing defensive positions effectively. This is apparent in their unique Innate abilities. Ascension Cables provide the Scale, enabling them to easily ascend to higher positions. Commando Armor, combined with the Hunker tokens obtained through Defensive Maneuver, and the Steadfast feature from Brothers in Arms, enhances their resilience by mitigating incoming fire. This plethora of abilities makes these soldiers incredibly durable, outshining their health-based expectations.
The Clone Commandos are armed with the straightforward yet powerful Commando Training stance. This stance arms them with formidable ranged attacks and prepares them for close combat, setting them apart from the regular Clone Troopers. Equipped with DC-17M blaster rifles for long-range attacks and vibroblades for close-quarters combat, they rely on their Katarn-Class Commando Armor. This armor, while offering impressive flexibility and protection, is designed to resist minor blows rather than sustain heavy blaster fire. The Stance’s Combat Tree is primarily centered on maximizing damage output, but it also carries the capacity to Pin or Strain, and potentially allow a Commando to Reposition.
