Check out the latest addition to Marvel Crisis Protocol, Ulyses Klaw!
Get ready to crank up the volume, because Ulysses Klaw, the Master of Sound himself, is about to hit your tabletop! We’re thrilled to introduce this notorious villain from the heart of Wakanda into your Marvel: Crisis Protocol games. Make no mistake; when Klaw’s around, he’s impossible to ignore!
A descendant of an infamous lineage of criminals, Klaw isn’t known for subtlety. His connection to Wakanda is as deep as it is dark, leaving a trail of devastation in his wake. He even managed to outsmart this mighty nation and kill their king, T’Chaka, while chasing a sample of Vibranium. His quest was to finish a revolutionary technology that could morph sound waves into physical mass. Though he retreated from that battle battered and bruised, he held his head high, considering it a partial victory.
Fast forward a decade, and Klaw’s sonic converter was finally complete. However, his return to Wakanda proved more disastrous than his first encounter. Desperate to turn the tide of battle, Klaw jumped into his sonic converter, morphing into a being of ‘living sound’. Despite this shocking transformation, he was once again defeated.
Today, we find Klaw post-transformation, and he’s mastered his new powers. He’s a formidable 5 Threat character and a fresh Leader for the Criminal Syndicate affiliation. A literal sound beast, Klaw is exceptionally skilled at warding off Energy attacks with an impressive 5 defense. Plus, his physical form, or lack thereof, makes it challenging for enemies to inflict significant damage. On the tabletop, this is reflected in his robust Stamina pool, boasting 7 on both his Healthy and Injured sides.
With a singular focus on Energy attacks, Klaw’s offensive capabilities are nothing short of impressive. His primary attack, Sonic Blast, is a force to be reckoned with, promising power equal to the damage dealt with a Strength 6 hit. The attack is also loaded with punishing special rules, causing Stun and Suppressive effects that ensure his enemies feel the pain!
Klaw’s Sonic Shockwave attack is a spectacle to behold. When he’s fully powered up, this 7 Strength, Beam 5 attack is unleashed, capable of piercing through defenses and obliterating Size 2 or smaller interactive terrain features.
Contrary to most bosses, Klaw doesn’t care much for his allies. Instead, he’s obsessed with his own gains and assets, evident in his Leadership, Black Market Entrepreneur. If an ally is Dazed or KO’d, Klaw gets to Advance Short, posing a challenge to his opponents’ strategies.
His unique superpowers, including Reconstitute Form and Soundwave Barrier, make him a force to be reckoned with. Whether it’s restoring his body or pushing enemies away with a soundwave, Klaw knows how to keep his enemies on their toes. Moreover, his innate power, Absorb Vibrations, ensures he always has the energy to fuel his abilities.
