Lets take a look at Star Wars: Shatterpoint’s Clone Wars saga: CC-2224, or as he is more popularly known, Clone Commander Cody.
The Clone Wars was a testament to the fact that identical clones could be strikingly different, and Commander Cody was a shining example of that uniqueness. Famous for being the deputy leader of the 212th Attack Battalion, Commander Cody was instrumental in safeguarding the Republic.
Commander Cody was a beloved figure amongst his comrades, gaining their respect and trust through his exceptional performance in various significant battles alongside the 212th. His strategic acumen was commendable, and his prowess in combat was undeniable. He was a loyal and disciplined asset to General Kenobi, until the infamous Order 66 came into play. Despite his forced betrayal against the Jedi due to his embedded control chip, Cody’s exemplary service in the many battles preceding the tragic event is not forgotten.
In terms of abilities, Commander Cody is a valuable addition to any squad. His focus is on coordinated attack strategies against significant targets. If he starts his activation with an enemy within his DC-15 Blaster Rifle’s range, his ‘We’ve Got a Big Problem’ tactic enables him to lay down fire on the enemy. His ‘Say Goodnight, Clanker!’ tactic even allows him to bypass the enemy’s protective cover, thereby hastening their defeat.
Commander Cody’s position is crucial in battle. Alongside the 212th Clone Troopers, he can move quickly towards the enemy, employing the ‘Defensive Maneuver’ to gain a Hunker token and use cover effectively. His ‘Bring it Down!’ tactic improves the Troopers’ firing accuracy by allowing re-rolls of up to two failed results from their defensive spots.
Commander Cody’s ‘Concentrated Firepower Stance’ is primarily offensive, focusing on delivering lethal injuries or using tactical shots to push foes away from objectives or obstacles. If a foe engages Cody, he uses his DC-17 blaster pistols for close combat, demonstrating his proficiency in close-range fights.
The 212th Clone Troopers are an ideal match for Commander Cody, displaying perfect synergy in a squad setup. Their combined ‘Defensive Maneuver’ and ‘Brothers in Arms’ abilities make them a formidable force that’s difficult to disrupt. The Troopers can also use the ‘Coordinated Fire’ reaction to pin down adversaries, disrupting enemy strategies effectively.
Their ‘Bullseye Training’ stance exemplifies their deadly accuracy with blaster rifles. This stance also provides another strategy for pinning enemies or exposing them to concentrated fire. However, unlike Commander Cody, the Troopers are primarily focused on ranged combat and are less equipped for melee combat situations.
To conclude our overview, Commander Cody and the 212th Clone Troopers are a well-balanced team, perfectly suited to fight under the command of General Obi-Wan Kenobi, but can also effectively respond to other leaders who choose to deploy them.
