Kill Team – Inquisitorial Agents Rules Preview

Hi all,
Prepare to emerge from the shadows and witness the might of the Inquisition in Kill Team: Ashes of Faith, the highly anticipated campaign expansion available for pre-order this weekend. Among the exciting features of this expansion is the introduction of the Inquisitorial Agent kill team. While we have already admired their stunning models, it’s time to uncover their formidable combat abilities.

The Inquisitorial Agents are not bound by the constraints of typical kill teams. They have clever workarounds that grant them an advantage in terms of roster size, objective control rules, and the Scouting step. Their greatest asset lies in their flexibility, utilizing the supreme authority of their patron to establish an extensive network of specialists who can be called upon at a moment’s notice.

With the expanded roster size, the Inquisitorial Agent kill team allows you to select a full team of 12 agents or replace five agents with an Ancillary Support choice from six different Imperial factions. These groups of specialists, drawn from their respective kill team rosters, bring a wide array of weaponry, gadgets, and rules to augment the Inquisitorial Agents’ capabilities.

The selection of operatives from your roster takes place after determining the mission and opponent, allowing you to strategically assemble the best-suited team for the task at hand. For close combat encounters within the narrow corridors of the Gallowdark, Sisters of Silence Vigilators deliver a devastating punch. However, if the mission involves long-range engagements in the vast expanse of Killzone Moroch, a Kasrkin team equipped with pinpoint firepower is the ideal choice.

The Interrogator, who leads the Inquisitorial Agent kill team, serves as a skilled commander. Working in tandem with their Tome-skull, they can defend allies and decimate enemies. Through the exchange of two Consecrated Tomes, the Interrogator can extend the range of their abilities beyond the limits of a single operative.

Another valuable asset is the Autosavant operative, focused on mission support. While their combat abilities may be lacking, their chronicling tools enable them to secure objectives with an Irrefutable Report. This operative ensures that control remains unyielding, even against formidable foes such as Heretic Astartes or Chaos Cultists.

Pistoliers, on the other hand, excel at dealing precise and devastating damage. With their short-range sidearms, they effortlessly navigate the confined spaces of killzones, while the Pistol Barrage ability can obliterate enemy operatives at a cost of just 1 AP. Moreover, their scoped plasma pistols possess impressive accuracy even at long range.
