poor AM players,
They barely get to enjoy their new book before it all gets swept away. But what is replacing it? Find out in the new preview just released by GW!
As with other armies, let’s start by looking at their faction ability:
The orders system looks quite similar, with Duty and honor getting a new ability which could be very useful when your opponent is forcing Battleshock tests left, right and center. Also don’t miss the fact that Battleshock will negate orders! I am curious how they will adapt tank commanders for this system too!
The bread and butter of your lists will still be the humble Guardsman Squad:
Krak grenade launchers look to be a lot more useful, their strength is even higher then that of plasma guns! The Vox Caster will also be a must-have as getting CP on a 4+ (if an officer is nearby) is amazing! The unit also gets the ability to make objectives sticky which is massive incentive to take these units! Squad size has also doubled allowing for much larger units!
The Baneblade may also show up more as it’s profile makes it quite intimidating:
Demolisher cannons look to be a lot more viable, and the Baneblade’s main gun can dish out some real hurt as it will average 11 shots. The tank itself provides cover to nearby squads making for some synergy, but it’s Deadly Demise is also more lethal.
When it comes to weapon spotlights the basic Leman Russ cannon looks to be an effective vehicle killer now:
But if you want something well and truly dead, the Volcano Cannon is still your best bet!
The nids aren’t the only ones getting the ability to resurrect squads, check out this awesome strat the Am get:
