Hey everyone! Adam, FLG Head Judge and TFG Radio host, here to give a second update on our store’s 40K campaign.
It’s been a little while as life has gotten in the way of some of the players. Be that as it may, there were still a number of games played and there has been movement on the map. Currently there are only 2 out of the ten players that have still not played a game in the campaign but there is still plenty of time for them to get some games in. Here is how things stand so far.
Chaos makes its move
The forces of chaos seemed to move out in force all at once. The Daemons of Tzeentch made a move towards the nearest spaceport, gaining the territory after defeating the local Planetary Defense Forces (I played a pickup game with our team’s Astra Militarum player). This now allows that force to jump to other territories easier. The followers of The Changer of Ways also combated the Eldar of the Ulthwe craftworld and although they defeated the Eldar, they were unable to capitalize on the victory (no tiles gained) The World Eaters in the center of the map, after initial defeats, faced the Blood Angels on the field of battle. The two armies in red faced each other with the sons of Angron coming out on top and gaining a territory. The Word Bearers decided to use this as an opportunity to take advantage of the Blood Angel’s dire straights and take a territory from them. While all this was happening, the Orks continue to expand there territory.
The Imperium Fighting Back
As the Blood Angels face the brunt of Chaos’ attacks, the Grey Knights, backed up by Space Marines from the Iron Hands chapter (Tom started playing them at the store), have begun to expand their sphere of influence. Their first victim was the contingent of Chaos Knights on the planet. After defeating them in battle the space marines were able to expand their territory. They had also used this opportunity to keep the Ulthwe craftworld in check but just like their chaos counterparts, they were unable to get any gains from their victory. Although they were defeated in numerous battles, the Ulthwe were still able to expand their territory.
So the standing so far are as follows:
Adam – 10 tiles | Tom – 10 tiles | Iggy – 9 tiles | John – 8 tiles | Chad – 8 tiles |
Alex – 8 tiles | Ricky – 7 tiles | Travis – 7 tiles | Danny – 6 tiles | Paul – 6 tiles |
