Ewoks, Ewoks Everywhere!

The day has finally come, Ewoks have been announced for Star Wars: Legion! Let’s take a look at the news from Atomic Mass Games.

For those paying close attention, AMG actually spilled the beans a little earlier, but that makes today’s news no less awesome! Wicket, Logray and the Ewok warriors of Bright Tree Village are coming to Legion. And as if that weren’t enough, a new and improved AT-ST is coming as well, with two pilot variants peeping out of the top: General Weiss and freaking Chewbacca!

This is an image from an announcement on the AMG website that was posted on April 28th, showing prizes for the World Championship qualifiers which were held on 5/4 (May the fourth). Those are some sweet, full art unit cards!

Looking past the gorgeous art on the cards, these reject Care Bears look like they might really suck on the tabletop, but that’s not why we’re buying them (and yes, I will be buying them). You can choose to arm this unit with spears or slings. You can also fill their heavy slot with an axe wielder and their personnel slot with a trapper. Maaaaaaybe this will make them a little more versatile, but I doubt there are any strong shocks to the meta included in this box. Damn, they look good, though.

We also get Wicket and Logray, surfing on tree roots. These adorable badasses are commanders for rebel armies (the implications of which are just hilarious) which includes (tantalizingly), according to their Azmodee shop entry, “the new Bright Tree Village Battle Force.” Shut up and take my money! But table that, let’s stick to the issue at hand: These bad bear boys also come with extra unit cards for C-3PO and Chewie that “reflect their time on Endor during Return of the Jedi.” That’s cool, but that’s not all!

The AT-ST is being re-released with some new engineering, options and unit cards. The new and improved AT-ST can be assembled with the hatch open and either Chewbacca or General Weiss popping out. It is also offers “a better assembly experience,” whatever that means. Lastly, it contains cards for General Weiss AND Chewbacca to command it, which is pretty cool!

I would call that a pretty damn good Revenge of the Fifth! Man, I can’t wait to drown my friends’ armies in hardcore, survivalist, teddy bears!
