Your friendly neighborhood prognosticator here! Warhammer Fest 2023 is right around the corner, which means it’s time for some crazy predictions. Last Warhammer Fest saw the reveals of many major factions and games including the full Horus Heresy box reveal, the new Daemon Prince, World Eaters and much more. What might this one bring?
I think this one is easy. This reveal will focus on 10th edition especially the starter box. Expect to see a lot of new marine and tyranid models alongside, maybe, some other rules previews for other armies. We haven’t heard a peep about 10th ed this week which means they have been saving them for something big. Probably for this weekend.
I predict AoS will get a lot of reveals. Given their teaser image they shared, I expect the Orks to feature in some fashion. I am going to go out on a limb and say they will reveal an Orks vs New Shadow (Malerion) elves boxed set. In addition, they will also reveal new Cities of Sigmar models as well as a revamped Flesh Eater Courts book.
This is tougher. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more reveals from the upcoming Cthonia campaign book including a few new models (probably character sculpts) that are included in the book. I wouldn’t be shocked to see another reveal for jump infantry or some other missing unit that needs models. Honestly, I think the surprise will be the revamped Epic game system that will be announced for this slot. We have heard rumors of it for a while and now is a time for something big.
The new kid on the block, I have already covered some of my expectations for this reveal in a past article. I think we get a peak at the start box at best, but most likely will get a release time-frame and more details about the kits GW is bringing back (at worst)
I must admit I am very excited for this event. I feel that they will bring a lot of seismic changes to the war gaming landscape this weekend, although I am trying not to get my hopes up too much. One criticism of my predictions might be that there are too many big changes for each army system. I doubt everything will be that exciting but who knows? What about you?
