Hi all,
It’s time for another monthly update on my progress towards the three events I will be playing in for the Nova open!
So let’s revisit what I need to accomplish:
- Design army lists for:
- Warhammer Armies Project (WAP) big battle
- Age of Sigmar Doubles
- Horus Heresy Doubles
- Acquire the models for above
- Paint the models from above
So far I have closed in on lists for all three, though my AoS list is the most shakey. I am leaning toward the following:
- Contorted Epitome
- 2×11 Blissbard Archers
- 1×5 Slickblade seekers
- 1×10 Seekers
I still don’t know enough about the various sub-factions to pick an artifact or alignment (Pretenders, etc.) but I am liking the list. The one downside, is that I have 0 of these models painted, and I still need to get one more block of Blissbarb archers. Since I suck at painting human flesh, this is likely where I will lean on a commission painter for.
For the Horus Heresy I just need to get a javelin and a few jetbikes to complete my list. Then, I will need to paint the aforementioned models as well as an Arquitor, a few rapier mortars, and some characters. I think I will focus on the 30k units after the Slaanesh models as I can make another 1500 list if need be.
Lastly for the WAP I am in a good spot. I just finished 12 Slaanesh Fiends which I will need for my list but also encountered a conundrum.
While I love my square bases, I worry that having them glued on will limit my ability to use them in 40k or AoS. Thus, I came up with a solution: on each base I glued a washer and carefully made sure it wasn’t covered by the texture paints. I also glued a magnet on one foot on each of the fiends, allowing me to swap bases with ease. While they can look a little wonky, the additional flexibility is nice for making them rank up.
Goals for next update:
- Paint 30 Daemonettes
- Nail down my AoS list
- Get the last Horus Heresy models
- Build my Blissbarbs
