Take a Look at Captain Rex and the 501st Clone Troopers!

Rex was a mainstay and fan favorite character of the Clone Wars, lets take a look at what he and the boys can do in Star Wars: Shatterpoint.

Captain Rex is a clone who served the Republic during the Clone Wars and was known for his loyalty and completing his missions. He customized his armor with blue markings and was often seen using two blaster pistols. He led the 501st Legion and was a strong leader on the front lines of conflicts. He has the ability to provide a dash and gain a Hunker token with Get a Move On, Soldier, and can clear great distances with Defensive Maneuver. These abilities play well with some of his innate abilities.

Captain Rex cares deeply for his troops and ensures that they complete missions with limited casualties. Bring it On, Clankers lets allied Clone Trooper Units heal each time they gain a Hunker token and Brothers in Arms gives Rex Steadfast while he has a Hunker token. He can also make a 5 dice attack with I’m Always First, Kid after an allied Clone Trooper Unit completes a Combat Action. His point cost of 4 makes him a valuable addition to squads with other friendly Clone Troopers.

Tactical Supremacy is Rex’s stance that gives him options for damage and control during attacks. He is skilled in both ranged and melee combat. The 501st Clone Troopers are well-trained and disciplined soldiers who are willing to risk themselves for the Republic. They have Defensive Maneuver and Brothers in Arms, which give them extra mobility, Hunker tokens, and Steadfast, making them hard to push back from their positions once they dig in.

The 501st Clone Troopers have Coordinated Fire: 5, which gives the Strained condition to the allied Unit’s target. If the target can’t remove the condition before making another action or move, it will suffer damage. Their Advanced Combat Training Stance allows them to slow down the enemy and deal significant damage with their ranged attacks. With a point cost of 3, they are affordable and can be easily added to any squad. They also leave room for more expensive Secondary Units when used in squads under Primary Units that provide a large number of squad points.
