Hey everyone! Adam, FLG Head Judge and TFG Radio host, here to give an update on our store’s campaign.
I know it has been a little while but here is the first update for the campaign that I am running at my local store. Before I get into the update itself I do have an update for the rules of the campaign. So in addition to letting you know how everyone is doing, I will list what adjustments I am making due to the availability of some players and recent announcements from Games Workshop.
Campaign Adjustments
After I started the campaign I realized a few things. There were probably too many people and it is hard for all of them the coordinate to play games. There was also a big difference in the experience of some of the players. The final thing is that Games Workshop has announced that a new edition is on it’s way. Because of all this I decided to change a couple things for the campaign. There are 2 ways to win the campaign. One is to have at least 10 tiles and have played against every player at least once. The other way to win is that after the end of the current edition of the game, the player with the most tiles will be the winner. If there are players that have the same amount of tiles, the tie breaker will go to the player that has played the most unique opponents. Hopefully that will help things move along so now lets see what the board state is currently at.
Tentative Moves
In this opening round it appears that most of the armies on the planet are merely content with consolidating their landing zones. Almost every army has moved so that they are finally coming into contact with the borders of their immediate neighbors. The warband of World Eaters in the center of the planet and the mysterious Eldar craftworld to the west have both been able to capture a spaceport in order to help with further conquests. Even so, there are already additional conflicts that seem to be brewing. In the north, the Ulthwe seem to be on a collision course with an Ork Waaagh, while further south the World Eaters seem to be coming into conflict their loyalist red armoured counter parts in the form of the Blood Angels. These initial clashes should prove interesting.
First Battles Fought
As some armies slowly take territory, there are a few that have already spilled blood on the planet of Pasdena IX. For reasons only known to the Change of Ways, the daemons of Tzeentch struck first and drove back the World Eaters from one of their original landing spots. While this was happening, the Grey Knights attacked and defeated the unknown craftworld but failed to gain any territory. Luck was with the Grey Knights as they battled the just defeated World Eaters on the other side of their territory and took another piece from the followers of the Blood God. The next round will prove interesting as there is little unoccupied territories left and some battles have yet to be resolved.
