I am starting my series of articles on the reveals from Adepticon with some 30K news. The upcoming book will focus on the Sons of Horus’ attempt to retake their home world from the Imperial Fists. While this news has been dwarfed by the other reveals it has some important implications.
This is the first campaign supplement for the Hours Heresy and so includes some really interesting options. These include rules for customizing your forces beyond the usual detachment limits with campaign stratagems, character casualties, battle achievements and more. The Crusade system has been pretty popular in 40k so I am curious what elements will continue into the 30k realm.
The book will also include a series of new core missions (hopefully more objective-based ones) as well as dedicated rules for Zone Mortalis, including five missions and dedicated campaign rules, extra Imperial Fists and Sons of Horus rules for the characters and weapons that starred in the Siege, and a great swathe of upgrades that can be used by any Legion – from Decurion tank commanders to the unstable Inductii.
This might be the first time we get to see some non-Forge World units pop up.
