MCP Brings us Another MODOK…yay?

Alright, full disclosure, I think MODOK is the silliest character in Marvel, perhaps exceeded only by Toad in regards to how hard my eyes roll at the character design, but that aside, let’s take a look at what this new version of the Scientist Supreme has to offer.

George Tarleton was once a simple scientific technician working for Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.). Rather than the tale of an experiment gone wrong that is the origin story for many a super powered individual, we instead have the tale of a nefarious experiment gone horribly right (from A.I.M.’s point of view!). He was kidnapped and forced by his former employer into an evil experiment designed to turn him into a human supercomputer. The side effects of this left him in need of a life-support-unit-turned- armchair-weapon-station known as the “Doomsday Chair”. But that’s all in the past now, as he is not only his own boss these days, but the Scientist Supreme of A.I.M. itself! Unfortunately for everyone else, he also now has an ego and ambition to rival anyone in existence and doesn’t mind leaving a trail of bodies behind him as he pursues his own schemes and grudges.

Let’s take a look at his stats!

M.O.D.O.K Scientist Supreme is a Threat 4 Leader with strong mystic defenses and a high Stamina. He has versatile abilities including potent attacks, rerolls, and the ability to throw allies in front of attacks. His Doomsday Chair Arsenal is a Range 4, Strength 5 attack with options for Physical or Energy damage, and a chance to apply the Incinerate condition with a wild roll.

M.O.D.O.K Scientist Supreme’s Doomsday Chair Arsenal is a powerful attack with a range of 4 and strength of 5. It can deal Physical or Energy damage and has a chance to apply the Incinerate condition with a wild roll.

M.O.D.O.K Scientist Supreme’s Psionic Assault is a Strength 7 attack from Range 3 that can cost 4 Power to use. It can Advance the target character and has a chance to apply the Stun special condition before dealing damage.

As a leader of the Criminal Syndicate affiliation, M.O.D.O.K’s Advanced Idea Mechanics Leadership allows allies holding or contesting objective tokens to change one of their dice results to a hit or shield when rolling a wild.

M.O.D.O.K’s only Active superpower, By My Calculations, You’ll be Dead in Seconds!, allows him to throw up to Size 4 terrain from Range 3 for 3 Power, dealing 5 damage.

M.O.D.O.K Scientist Supreme’s first Reactive superpower, All in this World are Beneath me!, allows him to reroll 1-3 attack dice during the Modify Dice step of his attacks by forcing an allied character within Range 3 to spend their Power.

His second Reactive superpower, Genius Requires Sacrifice; YOUR Sacrifice to be Precise!, lets him spend 2 Power to force an allied character within Range 2 to become the target of an attack aimed at him. This cost drops to zero when he is injured.

His Innate superpower, I am M.O.D.O.K., Master of the Mental Arts!, allows him to add Blanks in his defense rolls to his total successes when defending against a Mystic attack. It also prevents him from being Pushed or Advanced by enemy Mystic attacks or superpowers.

I mean….lol.
