Lust and Anger – Looking at the Age of Sigmar Open Day Reveals

Hi All,
We were blessed with a bevy of new reveals for the mortal realms last night. For the forces of chaos we got two new announcements.

Blades of Khorne
The Blades of Khorne are getting a new model called a Realmgore Ritualist. These are sacrificial priests who can drive their Bloodbound allies into a frenzy.

So if you can find a key objective you will make it very hard for your opponent to hold. Although the followers of Khorne do not use sorcery you can expect to find a full compliment of prayers to supplement your forces. We also get to see what the new combat patrol will look like and it appears Skullcrushers are back in the box!

Hedonites of Slaanesh
For the more decadent of you we are also getting a new book for the followers of Slaanesh. Their new model is called the Lord of Hubris.

This guy boasts (literally) a very high-risk high0reward ability. He can make other units target him, but they also gain the Strike-first ability. We will need to se what defensive abilities he has and his full stat-line, but it is an interesting way to try and control your opponent.

The combat patrol box for the Hedonites is also interesting in that it doesn’t contain any Slaanesh daemons. The Slaanesh Chariots have been direct order for a while now, I wonder what role these units will have, if any in the new force? The current box is very focused on the mortal followers of Slaanesh.

Summary:
It is interesting to see how similar these books will be given their proximity to each other. As a recent adoptee of the Hedonites (although strictly a Daemon player) I was waiting on this book before enlarging my force. I am a little worried for the future of my chariots but I can’t deny the new models look amazing, and seem to have some great lore behind them. As for Khorne, they seem to be leaning into the cannibal aesthetics and it is very effective!
