Today (for those on the east coast) we got to wake up and see the new releases and previews from the LVO! One of the most anticipated of the lot was Strike Force Agastas!
This release is the debut for now less than 3 different new sculpts. The long-awaited Brutalis Dread, the Desolation Squad and a new Primaris lieutenant! They also include five heavy intercessors which they have been practically giving away for the past year!
The Brutalis is the clear belle of the ball here.
Rocking no less than four guns, the melee machine has plenty of shot to soften up its targets. The multi-meltas might be my pick as few things can’t be solved by 4 melta shots. The claws look very killy and the whole model looks like it is well equipped for its purpose.
Will this be the lieutenant release to end all lieutenant releases? You now can easily get a powerfist option and have a lot of other flexible choices. I am a little bummed you don’t get the shield option from the Indomitus box. You think they would want to consolidate the choices a bit more.
Well that pretty much wraps it up…..oh wait……I guess there is one more…..
Oof these are the most 40k looking models i have seen in a while. I have no idea what on earth is going on with their guns. Looking at this sculpt you know they are going to be super OP at release otherwise no one is touching them wit ha 10 foot pole. The funny thing is that the guns would be fine if they just picked one option and stuck with it. As it stands it looks like someone threw a Hunter Killer Missile, Lascannon and Smart Missile launcher into the warp and this is what came out.
GW has some amazing models so I will give them a pass it’s just kinda silly. No idea how they made it past any QA groups haha. On the plus side you can now start kit-bashing heavy weapons primaris marines. Think you can build something better? Give it a shot!
