GW Grognard: Some tips for LVO

CREATOR: gd-jpeg v1.0 (using IJG JPEG v62), quality = 95

Hey everybody! Adam, from TFG Radio and LVO judge, here to give you a little bit of advice for your trip to the Las Vegas Open.

With less than a week to the big event there are a lot of wheels in motion for those attending and running the event. I have been busy answering emails and fixing lists all the while trying to be sure I have my stuff ready for the trip. Although Las Vegas is a relatively short trip for me, many of you are coming from much farther away and are already well on your way to the event. For the last few weeks I am sure there have been plenty of media telling you some tips and tricks when attending the Las Vegas Open. This week I will give you a few last minute tips that many people don’t talk about when attending LVO, or any convention for that matter.

Chapstick

The air inside the casino, well any casino really, is very dry. Over the course of the convention weekend your lips will become dry. Having chapstick on hand, and using it, will help keep your lips from becoming cracked. Luckily this item is pretty inexpensive however, if you happen to forget to bring or buy one then your wallet will take a hit when you are forced to buy one in Las Vegas or in the casino itself. Keep those lips from drying out and get yourself some chapstick. I prefer strawberry flavor.

Cough Drops

Another one that doesn’t really come to mind but I think we all need it. If you have eve been to any type of convention then you know about the dreaded “Con Crud”. It’s that feeling in your throat that something isn’t right. A lot of it is from you talking to other people and basically yelling at each other because of the amount of noise in the halls. Over the weekend you voice starts to go and for some by the end of the weekend you may not even be able to speak. Taking a cough drop will definitely help out with that. It may not prevent you from getting Con Crud altogether but it should help in lessening the impact and hopefully getting your voice back that much quicker.

Deodorant

Listen, we all stink. There is no way around and it is in various degrees for everyone. Everyone should have deodorant in their bag of stuff. Even if we start out the day smelling like roses, during the course of the day the effects of that morning deodorant starts to wear off so it might be good to have something on hand in order to freshen up. I’m not your mom telling you what to do but as someone that has to press a lot of flesh over the course of the coming weekend, please , please have some deodorant on hand and actually use it.

That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and what your tips for handling conventions, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
