GW Grognard: New Year Resolutions I will break

Hey Everybody! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to start of the new year with a new article and promises I hope to keep.

Welcome one and all to the new year! Coming in bright eyed and bushy tailed, I am certainly ready for the new year, then I remember I have to get ready for LVO and I already feel tired. Obviously I am kidding (Don’t tell Reece) and really look forward to seeing everyone later this month. As mentioned, I am hopeful this year and have a lot of plans for this year. So in keeping with the annual tradition I will be making three resolutions this year and hope to keep. Please note I will not be making the typical “get in shape” resolution as I love tacos too much.

Paint More Models

Long time readers know that I am not a fan of painting in general, whether it’s miniatures, terrain, or my house. This year I really do hope to do more painting. Getting a new game out and having a YouTube channel will hopefully spur me to paint models and terrain for all the myriad games that I play and want to play. I probably should keep a log of what I paint so I can see how far I have gone along in getting paint on models. I have high hopes for this one.

Play more games that are not 40K

I have been playing 40k for almost 30 years. Before that I had been playing historical games and I still play today. I think this year I will play more games that are not in the Games Workshop universes. There are plenty of other games out there that look interesting. The new Star Wars skirmish game, the new City States army from Conquest, and almost any historical period, all have me looking at models that are not produced by Games Workshop. Luckily I have a few friends that I can trick, I mean persuade, into playing these games with me.

Write more articles

I am not going to lie, I have been slacking off a bit (Don’t tell Reece). I know, I know, you guys and gals really missed my weekly articles about nonsense and times of the past. Hopefully if I fulfill my previous resolutions then I can have something more to write about than remembering where I left my Rogue Trader books. I will be getting back on the horse and writing my weekly article and hopefully a few other types of articles once I get more games under my belt. In any case, here is to a new year of opportunities and hopefully much more productive on every level.

That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and what you plans are for the new year, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
