Hi all,
After being reasonably leased with how well my predictions went for 2022 let’s take another stab at some crazy guesses for this coming year!
40K: I am guessing it will be a quiet year for 40k in terms of codexes but busy in other ways
- There will be six arcs of omen books, the three already shown and then one for Snikrot, Farsight and Azrael. These books will come out once a month until July, leading to….
- 10th edition launches in July 2023. It will be more of a shake up than 8th-9th was. The biggest change comes to stratagems which are greatly curtailed if not fundamentally altered. 10th ed also will give players more freedom in detachment flexibility.
- 10th edition also radically alters the Crusade system simplifying it and causing some controversy in the narrative discussion boards.
- Including the full releases of the World Eaters and Guard the Space Marines, Tyranids and Orks all get new codexes.
- All in all, 40k will continue to be strong, but will start losing ground to 30k and other systems as it staggers under its own weight.
Other Systems: There is a lot more to GW than 40k, let’s focus on some other games too.
- 30k starts growing more rapidly as it takes on additional 40k players
- New releases include the Cerberus, recon marines and an White Scars Outrider Praetor
- Age of Sigmar continues to grow buoyed by a year of many releases.
- Seraphon, Cities of Sigmar, Maggotkin, Disciples of Tzeentch, Ossiarch Bonereapers, Flesh Eater Courts are the announced releases.
- However, GW will update all old Age of Sigmar Battletomes by the end of the year.
- There will be no concrete update on the Old World until December 2023 as GW focuses on the unexpected popularity of 30k.
So what do you think? Will I be right about any of this? Wrong about something? Let me know in the comments!
