Atomic Mass Games had just announced that January 16, 2023 the Star Wars: Legion Rules Reference Guide will be joining the Learn To Play guidebook in an updated and streamlined Core Rulebook.
With Star Wars: Legion becoming more and more popular, Atomic Mass Games has started to streamline their resources to help new players get tuned into the game. Starting in January instead of having essentially their How To Play guidebook be combined with their Rules Reference guidebook so that players don’t need to cross reference between two separate books.
Additionally, there’s going to be some updates to their rules to clarify rulings and update certain mechanics. However, Atomic Mass Games does stress that it’s not going to overhaul the rules for Legion that their players have come to love.
The first update they’re previewing is around the way Line of Sight is used during a game.
Vehicles have a silhouette from their base to the hull that doesn’t include things like weapons and antennae’s. This makes it so then players who use things like Spider Droid’s don’t have to worry about the antennae’s sticking out.
The relationship between silhouettes and cover has also been revisited to where units have cover if half or more of it is obscured instead of seeing how much the silhouette is obscured.
This final rule is VERY interesting giving units a wound cap depending on whether the models are within line of sight or not.
There’s more updates coming out this month from Atomic Mass Games to help preview the new updated rules for Star Wars: Legion so stay tuned! You can read the Atomic Mass Games article on their rules here.
