Games Workshop dropped some cool news over the holiday weekend and we’re taking a quick look at what they announced.
Before we even discuss everything else, Craftwords are getting new models and that’s a pretty big deal. They’ve got some models that are almost old enough to drink so seeing a refresh on the army is very welcomed.
The new Guardian squad looks incredibly nice from what they previously were where the heads looked a bit dated. With the new production style that GW has gone with, Craftworld armies no longer have to stick to just the helmet – the faces look good too!
Meanwhile we’ve also got the two codexes that were supposed to come out in December that are finally going out to stores: Genestealer Cults and Adeptus Custodes.
As far as the Genestealer Cults go, previews for their rules have been pretty scant comparably to the Custodes. There’s the new Crossfire rule which sounds neat but besides that we’ve kind of been kept in the dark for what this book is even going to entail. Coming from a fellow Tyranids player, I’m definitely picking up a copy of the book to help represent my fellow Hive Bros and Gals.
Custodes on the other hand have had an entire slew of new rules slung at as us from the Warhammer Community page. To be fair, Custodes are way more of a popular army compared to GSC – and the rules drops have been nuts. Definitely looking forward to this book and seeing what the banana boys are going to be bringing to the table.
Jaghatai Khan is here for Horus Heresy and my goodness this is an absolutely stunning model. Still suffering from PTSD from all the trim on my Thousand Sons army (I’ll finish them eventually I swear) the trim work on this model doesn’t look too bad. Amazing model again from Games Workshop, I’m always surprised on their new prints and this does not disappoint.
Book two of The Twice-Dead King is coming out in paperback, ebook, audiobook and a luxury special edition version. Written by Nate Crowley, author of the first installment it’s sure to be a good read.
And finally to round out this Monday recap post, we’ve got the 4th issue to the Warhammer x Marvel Comics crossover with the Sisters of Battle coming with an Exclusive Cover only available to your local Warhammer Shop and Games Workshop webstore. Whether you enjoy the crossover or not, it’s always cool to see the IP given more light.
