GW Grognard: A Good Night’s Sleep

Hey everybody! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to help you get some much needed rest when at a 2 or 3 day tournament.

Who doesn’t love multiple day tournaments? You get to spend the whole weekend gaming and hanging out with friends. It’s also a great way to get a lot of ITC points and hopefully improve your standings. Many people believe that one of the keys to doing well in a tournament is to get a good night’s sleep. For many people however it can be really difficult to get the proper sleep in order to do well at the tournament. This week I have decided to share my vast wisdom with you and give you some top tier secrets on ways to get a good sleep for any event you attend and be on time for your morning matches.

Sleep In Your Car

Most of you will probably drive to your event. If that is the case then you already have a place to stay. Many people spend most of their lives driving in their car anyway so why not sleep in it? The driver’s chair is already used to you sitting in it so their should not be any discomfort as you settle down for a good sleep in the comfort of your vehicle. This is especially good if you have a car that can drive itself while you sleep because now you are being extremely efficient as you are able to multi task. Besides, if you took my advice from my other article your army is already in your car waiting for you also.

Sleep in the Closet

So let’s say you get a room at the hotel the event is at, or at a nearby hotel, and one of your roommates keeps you up at night so what then? You really have 2 options. The first one is to sleep in the closet, if it is large enough. This is helpful because the extra walls and door around you will help with the noise if your roommates snore, talk in their sleep, have night terrors, or all of the above. The extra layer of protection will definitely help you get a good sleep. Sure it may be a little cramped and claustrophobic but the benefit of that sweet sweet sleep can do nothing but help you. The other option is quite simple, just put your roommate into the closet. You get the same effect and benefit except that you are the one that gets to sleep on an actual bed. If there are multiple roommates then you may have to utilize the bathroom in that case to ensure you are in prime condition in the morning.

Stay Up All Night

This one is pretty straight forward, just don’t go to sleep at all. This is easier to do depending on the location of the event. In any case it may be easier to just stay up the whole night and not even bother going to sleep. Their are plenty of ways to stay up and attentive after this and I’m sure it will have no effect on how you function the rest of the day during the tournament. I’m sure your friends won’t mind it and you’ll have a fun time in the process. Your performance in the tournament will be one to remember for sure. This one is probably my favorite.
