GW Grognard: Tips for LVTT

Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to help you get ready for the big event happening in Las Vegas next week!

There is a lot going on with just a week left before the Las Vegas Team Tournament. I am sure you guys and gals are just as excited as me to get the event going. I can’t tell you how much fun it was looking at all the conversions and wacky models you guys came up with. I mean I did have to answer rules questions but that is part of the territory. I am feeling especially ambivalent this week so as a favor I will give you some hints on how to survive the weekend at the Las Vegas Team Tournament.

Have a designated guide person

We all know when we go out for dinner and drinks with friends there should be someone that is the designated driver to be sure we all get back home safe. When in Vegas you really still someone to fill that role but their job is to get you to the right room in a safe and timely manner. Depending on where you are staying, you may not really have a need to drive a car anywhere and can just walk to wherever you want to go. Even so, you will still need someone to help guide you back to your room and tuck you in so that you don’t get lost and end up in the wrong room or even hotel. Mistakes like this could ruin your chances at the tournament. Or make for a great story, either way it is win-win.

Accept that you will lose money

It is Las Vegas, City of Sin, so don’t expect to come out of it unscathed when it comes to your wallet. There are plenty of way to lose your money in the city, so don’t expect to save any money while there. It doesn’t matter how much you save for the trip, you will lose it all and while that is happening you will feel great while losing it. Hopefully you will have enough money left over to make it home and won’t have to sell the army you just brought for the event. Why does Games Workshop have to make such beautiful models so expensive? It really doesn’t leave you much money to spend in the city itself.

Have Fun

At the end of the day, the objective is to have fun. Sure you and your team will try to win the event but lets be real, what are your chances of actually winning the event? For a majority of player of players just the experience of playing games with friends, making new friends and meeting friends you haven’t see in over a year are what really make the tournaments so much fun. just the stories both in and outside of the tournament are a good enough reason to attend big events. So relax, have fun and don’t be a jerk. I would hate to have to card you and deduct points from your games (not really),
