GW Grognard: Missing 40K Characters

Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to expand your mind with some new ideas to spice up your 40K

The 40K universe is vast and has a lot going on. We have over thirty years of background that bring to like hundreds, if not thousands, of different characters. Some are just a small spark, maybe from a short story, while others shake the foundation of the universe itself. Unfortunately, Games Workshop will never be able to make a model of all the cool characters in their stories, or if they do it will be when I am long gone. This week here are a few characters I wish Games Workshop would make, but most likely never will.

Scaevolla

There s a short story called Honour Among Fiends and it tells the tale of the Black Legionnaire Scaevolla and his curse to forever kill those with the geneseed of his former friend Captain Aleph of the Imperial Fists. I find the story amazing and somewhat sad as Scaevolla must continue this tradition without end. I would love a model of him and can see plenty of ideas of using him in a diorama piece with an Imperial Fist. Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, he is not at the level of an Abaddon or Kharn, in name recognition or martial deeds, so he will forever be a kitbash and having to explain his back story to everyone that sees him,

This model certainly looks old

Doombreed

I am not sure but I think Games Workshop did make a model of this daemon prince back in the day for Fantasy. Doombreed is considered, in the fluff of both fantasy and 40K, the first or one of the first humans to be raised as a daemon prince for Khorne. He even helped out during the Horus Heresy. They have been making a number of daemon models for the Horus Heresy I don’t see why they can’t add one more, especially since he played such an important part, at least in the original fluff. I mean we could always use another model for a daemon prince, especially since the current one is kind of old and not very dynamic compared to more recent models.

Obiwan Sherlock Clousseau

Anyone who remembers this subtle reference from Games Workshop should demand a model be made of one of the greatest Inquisitors of all time. Just look at him! That stylish hat, the well groomed beard, and those piercing accusing eyes, have all the hallmarks of a great model. Imagine him in your army leading Inquisitorial forces against the enemies of the Imperium. As a chaos player I am ready to surrender just thinking about it. This is a model of perfect synchronization of model design and marketing. Everyone will want one, and I already want 10! Maybe for the 40th anniversary of 40K.

That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and what characters you think Games Workshop should make into models, in the comments section below.
