Notice of ITC Administrative Action Taken Against Player Misconduct

An attendee at the Fabricator Forge April GT was filmed conducting themselves in a manner violating the rules of Warhammer 40,000, and the ITC Code of Conduct.

In addition to the video evidence of this misconduct, these actions were confirmed by the event’s Tournament Organizers. Upon discussing with the Tournament Organizers, review of the video, and discussion amongst the community of ITC Tournament Organizers, administrative action was taken.

In addition to the actions taken by the event organizer and their regional coalition of event organizers, the player in question’s ITC points for the season to date have been removed and they will receive no score for any events they play in for the rest of the 2021 season. Any ITC participating event organizers are free to admit this player to their events or not at their discretion, but the player in question will gain no ITC points from said events.

Incidents of misconduct damage the reputation of the individual, the event they attend and the community of organized play enthusiasts as a whole. This behavior will not be tolerated and similar incidents will meet similar consequences.

ITC Administration

On a personal note, please remember that while we love these games, they are just games. They’re not worth damaging your reputation or compromising your ethics over, nor of harming the reputation of the hard working event organizer whose event you are attending. Likewise, no one has the right to diminish the experience of the other attendees coming to an event that paid money and often took time off of work to attend. Be mindful of the other individuals involved in making this awesome and vibrant community of gamers what it is. Winning games is fun, but being an upstanding human is better.

The flip side of that coin is that again, these are just games we play, regardless of how much we are passionately enthused about them. We are all human and we all make mistakes. Do not let the group mentality drive you to say or do things to someone that could do real harm to their real life. That is neither a fair nor appropriate response to what occurs in a game like 40k. Further, we all deserve a chance to redeem ourselves and be forgiven, so please bear that in mind when choosing how you conduct yourself regarding these types of incidents in online communities or at events.
