Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to talk about 40K, games and other stuff that pops into my head.
It’s been a while since I have played in a tournament with live people in attendance. I think it’s been almost a year at this point. Where I live it will probably be a few more months before we are allowed to even play games, let alone a tournament, at my friendly local game store. Even so, I have been getting myself into tiptop form in order to hit the tournament scene running. Here are a few of my secrets to how I plan to dominate the tournament scene thanks to this intensive training regimen.
Sit at My Computer All Day
Eating healthier? Exercising? None of that will have the same effect on my 40K game as just plopping myself in front of the computer all day and surfing the web. If I am doing this you would think I was reading articles and watching YouTube videos about the game in order to become a better player. WRONG! My precious computer time is much better spent watching anime, playing video games, reading manga, or binge watching YouTube videos about history. I mean we all know that the internet is not made for being productive. And getting physically fit? Please.
Not Playing with Friends
Even with the restrictions we have in place, it is still possible to play games with a small group of friends or one or two people that you really trust. I have done none of this. Sure, I have plenty of space to have a table, or two, but setting up a play date is a bit of a hassle. I first would have to move my cars to make room, then I would have to actually set up some tables and chairs. Then I would have to have some food and drink on hand for my guests. the kicker would be that I would have to actually have to clean my house and there is little chance of that happening as that would require much more effort than I am willing o make. The other thing is that I would actually need friends to begin with.
Ignore the Game Entirely
As I mentioned, there are a lot of places where I could watch 40K being played, discussed, and just get general information. Even if I am not able to play in person, there are plenty of ways for me to stay engaged or stay on top of what is going on in places that are actually allowed to have events. I just ignore all of them. Why bother even knowing about the game if I don’t even get to play it. Sure there are plenty of ways to play the game remotely but that would require me to do stuff and I really don’t want to. I’m sure my innate awesomeness at the game will manifest itself once again and I will become a great player almost instantly, so why even bother reading the rules. As I used to say, ” I don’t read rules, I play games”
That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and how you’re keeping up with the game, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
