Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here for some more talk about 40K and things.
Hopefully everyone had a safe and enjoyable New Year’s Eve. I know I did. I safely stayed at home and played video games until I knew it was the new year with the sounds of fireworks going off. Or it could have been celebratory gunfire, you never know. Since it is the new year, it is once again time for another installment of some of my resolutions for the new year. Some of these may seem like the same ones from last year but that’s not because they are, they just seem really similar. Wait, did I even do resolutions last year?
Actually Finish an Army
I’ve been really busy this past year. I have a lot of projects going on right now, spinning a lot of plates. With no events going on, at least near me, I really have no motivation to finish off my armies by painting them. The building part is easy, I have done plenty of that. I did it for a number of armies that I have been working on, not just in the realm of 40K either. I am not sure when I will be able to go to events again but I want to be sure I am ready for it without having to rush paint my army the night before the event. Honestly though, I will probably still have to do that even if I think I’m finished.
Organize My Hobby Room (and keep it that way)
I’m sure this is something most of us struggle with. It all starts very idealistic. Somehow you are able to obtain not just a small corner or a room but a whole room just for you and your hobby. You are able to make it look how you want and you spend a lot of time organizing it and making it look just right. I only takes a matter of weeks or even days for it to devolve into an overflowing warehouse of half done projects and and ever growing pile of shame. If you are lucky it looks like the warehouse from the ending of Raiders of the Lost Ark. On the other side of the spectrum is when it looks like a tornado hit. My space usually looks like the latter. I hope to rein the mess in and keep it that way. Fingers crossed.
Do more for the community
I sometimes feel like I am not doing enough for the community. Between running my own grand tournaments, helping the local store with their tournaments, judging the Las Vegas Open, traveling to help judge at other grand tournaments, and writing articles I am not sure if that is enough. Not sure what I can do though. I think I hope that in this coming year I can help 40K players find more ways of learning about the competitive side of the game. That is totally not a hint as to what I may be doing soon. Or is it?
That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and what your resolutions are for the new year, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
