GW Grognard: Isn’t it Ironic

Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to once again entertain you with my wit and wisdom about the wonderful world of 40K.

If you haven’t heard, there is a bit of bad news, the Death Guard products have been delayed due to the pandemic. Now I know what you’re thinking. How can the god of disease be affected by a disease? Short answer is that Games Workshop probably does not employ daemons of Nurgle or Nurgle worshipers. Because of this, their staff was not equipped to properly deal with the effects the disease would have on the company. The irony is still not lost and bring to mind, “What other circumstances could possibly cause a delay in releases?”

Missing STCs

In one of my previous jobs I used to work with a lot of old appliances. I’m talking about stuff that, if still working, is about a hundred years old by now. A lot of them still work fine and really speak to the craftsmanship of a bygone era. That being said, there were times when we found something so out there or just too old where we either didn’t know what it did or just didn’t have the parts for it. I would find it humorous, and kind of sad, if there were delays to the release of product because there was some machine or part that Games Workshop has been using these past thirty or forty years that no longer works. In addition, there is no one around anymore that can fix it or somehow find replacement parts. It seems there would be a search for someone with the knowledge or who has the machine that they are looking for. I can see a call for a crusade to find the STC for the part in question with great rewards for those who have such knowledge, Start hoarding those schematics now!

Lost in the Warp

things are lost in shipping all the time. In the past, vessels were lost at sea all the time also. Anyone familiar with the Bermuda Triangle knows that. If you have been playing 40K long enough you remember the tale of the container ship that went down in the pacific that contain the shipment of Eldar Falcons. I’m not going to lie, I did not and still do not feel sorry for the Eldar players. This is something that still could happen. Not everything is produce in the UK. There is still the chance that the ships could suffer the perils of warp(ocean) travel, or worse yet, be attacked by pirates of the Ork, human or Eldar variety. I mean let’s be honest, those games Workshop models aren’t cheap. Hopefully those ships have the tools to keep the gellar fields operating and the pirates at bay. Although, if we lose more Eldar models I won’t be sad.

That’s all for this week. Hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think, and what you think would cause release delays, in the comments section below. Don’t forget to visit our Facebook, Twitch, and Patreon pages to stay up to date on what we’re up to and when episodes drop!
