This weekend, Archmage Teclis and Celennar, Spirit of Hysh go on pre-order, bringing a much-beloved classic character into the Mortal Realms with a shiny new model. Today, we’re looking at this stunning new rendition of Teclis, with a closer peek at some details you may have missed! First, though, here’s a retrospective on some past incarnations of this great hero.
A Partnership of Equals
The first thing you’ll notice about Teclis and Celennar is that neither is riding the other! That’s because these two are allies – Celennar is an arcane spirit of Hysh rather than a mere monstrous mount.*
The Runic Mandala
As we’ve covered before, runes are of great significance to the Lumineth. While most models bear one or two runes, Teclis and Celennar bear the entire Runic Mandala in some form or another around their bodies, representing how the pair have mastered balance over each element.
Bigger is Better
Teclis might look humanoid at first glance, but this previously weedy High Elf is now a god! As such, he’s actually closer in size to larger-than-life champions like Alarielle and the Eidolon of Mathlann, as befits his new divine status.
Weapons of Old
Teclis’ armaments may look familiar to veteran Warhammer fans – that’s intentional! The iconic weapons of this champion of Warhammer have been faithfully reproduced and improved for this new rendition.
The Base of Success
Bases are easy to miss – but look closely, and you’ll see a wealth of detail at Teclis and Celennar’s feet! The miniatures designers behind this model designed, and then shattered, an aelven temple, to convey the tragic history of the Lumineth.
Want to own Teclis for yourself? Pre-order him this weekend! In the meantime, head over to the Warhammer Age of Sigmar Facebook page and tell us how you think Teclis stacks up against the other gods of the Mortal Realms
* Not that there’s anything ‘mere’ about most monstrous mounts. We might point to Dhorgar, for example…
