Hey everyone! Adam, from TFG Radio, here to talk about the wonderful world of 40K.
Last week we talked about some of the tables you used to have to roll on in a Warhammer or Rogue Trader game or campaign. We talked about some of the attributes that you could get for your Chaos Weapon. This time around, Games Workshop gives you another D1000 chart to roll on. This time we will go through some of the more unusual attributes your Champion of Chaos can get, other than turning into a spawn.
Crossbreed
This one is easy. You basically become a human hybrid. If you get this attribute, you then roll on another chart, and then roll again to see what creature you combine with. you could get lucky and combine with a Wyvern or Dragon. Wouldn’t that be cool? On the other hand, you could also end up combine with another humanoid race like an Elf or Dwarf. There is even a chance you could be combine with a rat or snail. I guess it depends on what you’re expectations are.
Flaming Skull Face
Do you like the comic book character, Ghost Rider? Or the movie with Nicolas Cage? If so, then you will love this Chaos attribute. This will greatly increase your enemy’s fear of you and your mighty warband. And if anyon dares to touch you face, they will get burned for their troubles. Now you can burn your enemies with both the flames from your face and the with of your mind.
Technology
If you remember from last week’s article, I discuss how there were sometimes cross over between 40K and Warhammer Fantasy. This Chaos Attribute in one of the ways that this cross over would happen. This attribute gifts the champion with some type of technological marvel. It can be something simple or mundane as a musket or antique pistol. There is a really good chance, however, of getting something worthy of a chaos champion. This could be things like a D-Cannon, Jokaero weapon, Heavy plasma Cannon, or Bolter. These are just some of the 46 possible weapons that you could get. With these futuristic weapons in your champion’s hands, there is no one in Warhammer Fantasy that could stop you. Except another champion with the same attribute.
Unnatural Flatulence
this one seems perfect for the follower of Nurgle. Your champion basically emits a cloud of gas. The nature of the gas can vary as it could be poisonous, paralysis, noxious, or cause your enemies to go crazy. All the units affected had to do was pass a toughness test to avoid the effects but there is no guarantee that they will pass it. Hopefully your champion can control his gas as it affects all units, friend or foe. This one will surely make an impression.
That’s all for this week. I hope you enjoyed the article. Let me know what you think and what attributes you have seen for your Chaos Champions, in the comments section below.
