It has been a very hectic time these last few weeks. With everything going there is a lot on people’s mind. In many cases people are staying home, or working from home, and that means that people need something to do. You might even be stumped as to what to do with all this free time while sitting on your throne of toilet paper that will last well into the next century. Fear not! I have plenty of ways to pass the time that you can enjoy. I’ll even be so kind as to share a couple with you. These are just a small taste of the kind of enjoyment you can have in the comfort of your own home.
Do the family taxes
For almost all of us this time of the year we are usually more worried about tax season. Many of us spend a lot of time with our tax professional in order to get those forms correct for Uncle Sam. This year, with the extra time and the fact that it may be difficult for you to get in contact with your tax person, you may just want to learn the tax code yourself. You can easily make it a fun family project as you and the whole family try to figure out how much you owe the government. Who knows, you may have a future tax specialist in the making that could easily help you out. I’m sure the whole family will appreciate the activity and want to do it every year.
Watch Paint Dry
There is nothing more exhilarating than watching paint dry. OK, maybe watching grass grow but it’s not really the same. Imagine the excitement your family will feel as they start to measure how long certain paints take to dry. Whether is by manufacturer, color, or date the paint was made, there are many ways to “mix it up” to keep the excitement for paint drying fresh and upbeat for everyone in the whole family. You could easily have races between the siblings as to which paint will dry first or other such games. The possibilities are endless.
Hobbying (I Guess)
This last suggestion is probably the worst. You should only do this if you are really bored, or really tired of seeing grey plastic. If you do this, you will finally cut into that backlog of models that you have and begin to have a fully painted army. You may also want to finish that display board that’s been sitting around half finished, or touch up some older models so that they are more inline with your current ones. All these suggestions are in case you somehow get board with doing your taxes, watching paint dry, or even picking the lint off your favorite sweater. Why would you rather build and paint your models so you can have a complete army? I just can’t understand it.
